Its 92 today.. The hottest day of the year so far. Which while we battle cold and freeze at nights sometimes thru summer months, the hot temps also create issues..... BUT it also creates a GREAT grow!.. Right now we have loads of lettuce we are harvesting for ourselves and the animals. Also herbs.. Next up the radishes, cucumbers, spinach, kale, potato, tomato, summer squash, carrots, string beans, cantaloupe, watermelon, eggplant, zucchini, beats, and spinach.
This year we used all our own compost for the base which makes it even more rewarding!..No store purchased dirts or fertilizer. HOME grown all the way!..
I'm had a slow start on my wild flowers. BUT some are coming up from prior years. Just not so sure I'll get mine in the ground this year with the overload and Randys back issues. He's doing well but still has continued constant pain. Continued prayers appreciated....
I dont want to count my chickens before they hatch but I think the garden is looking very promising this year. Even for some possible canning!
